How we check tradespeople
Anyone who contacts you has passed our checks
Proving ID and insurance is the minimum to be matched at all. The real question is whether locals rate them too.
ID & insurance checked
Every tradesperson who can take your job has proven their identity and shown valid public liability insurance. It’s not a premium extra.
For you: you’re never put in touch with someone unverified.
Recommended locally
Some tradespeople are also recommended by real locals for the kind of work you need. It can’t be bought, and we verify it before it counts.
For you: not just checked, but vouched for by people nearby.
A few names we suggest come from public recommendations and haven’t joined yet. We don’t show their details, and only approach them once you send your request. They’re always labelled “Not yet checked”. Your name and number only reach a tradesperson who has accepted your job and passed our checks.

Paying adds only a modest boost, and only while a tradesperson is well-rated. Let standards slip, and that boost falls away.
