DoyouKnowa Limited (“DYKA”, “we”, “us” or “our”) is a company registered in England. We connect clients with suitable tradespeople using AI-assisted matching technology. This Privacy Policy applies to users of our website and platform.

We use personal data to:

• Understand your job and find suitable local tradespeople
• Review your request and ask up to three suitable tradespeople, by message or phone call, whether they can take it on
• Send you text messages and, if you give an email address, emails about your request: a confirmation with your reference, an update by the time we promise, and when a tradesperson confirms
• Send service notifications and operational messages
• Collect reviews and feedback
• Verify tradespeople’s credentials
• Improve the performance, reliability and security of the platform

5. Data sharing

• When you send a KnowaChat request, we describe your job (the trade, a summary, your postcode area and how soon it’s needed) to up to three suitable tradespeople so they can say whether they can take it on. Some may not have joined DoyouKnowa yet; we contact them by phone and don’t give them your name or contact details.
• We share your name and contact details only with a tradesperson who accepts your job, has passed our ID and public liability insurance checks, and is a Premium member. If none can take it on, we don’t share them with anyone.
• Tradespeople’s contact details are shared only with matched clients where required to provide the service.
• We use service providers to run DoyouKnowa (see section 12). They process data only to provide their service to us.
• We do not share user data with third parties for unrelated marketing purposes.

6. Data storage and retention

Data is stored on secure servers. We keep your request, contact details and job photos for as long as we need them to provide the service and to deal with any questions or complaints about a job. We do not currently delete them automatically after a fixed period. You can ask us to delete your data at any time by emailing [email protected], and we will do so unless we are legally required to keep it.

If we can’t find a tradesperson for your KnowaChat request, you can choose “Delete my request” on the results page. We then delete your name, email address and phone number from the request straight away and close it. We keep the job details without your contact details so we can understand where we need more tradespeople.

We use functional cookies to operate the platform. Optional analytics or tracking cookies are used only where the required consent has been obtained.
